Cleaning Attachments with Metadact

This article introduces you to ZERO for Mobile integration with Litera Metadact. This integration empowers you to efficiently clean the metadata of email attachments, ensuring your documents are sent with your desired level of privacy and security.
To clean your attachments:
- Click the Metadact icon located at the bottom of your composer navigation bar. Please note that this icon becomes available when you are composing an email and have added an attachment to your message, along with having external recipients in your contact list.
- Upon tapping the Metadact icon, the list of cleaning profiles available to you will be shown in the Litera Cleaning Profile popup. Choose the cleaning profile that aligns with your preferences. Please note that when tapping the Litera Metadact icon for the first time, your default profile is automatically selected.
- Click the Send / Send & File / Send & Move (depending on your configured sending with action settings). If parameters allow user selection, the Metadact Preferences window is presented, displaying available metadata options.
Note: If there is no alertable metadata associated with the attachment file type, the Metadact Preferences screen will not be accessible. - If accessible, select the required metadata options in the Metadact Preferences screen.
- Click Accept and Send. Your attachments will be sent without any additional metadata, ensuring your documents are clean and secure.
Note: If your attachments are password-protected, you will be prompted with the Password Protected Attachment screen. Enter your password to initiate the metadata cleaning process before sending the attachment to the intended recipient. After entering the password, you will be directed to the Metadact Preferences screen to continue customizing your metadata preferences as needed.
